Weekly Pool Maintenance in Walnut Creek

Weekly full-service maintenance from The Pump Master Pool & Spa keeps your water clean, balanced and safe, and catches equipment problems early. We are a family-owned business serving Walnut Creek and nearby East Bay communities, and we hold NSPF Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification.

What weekly service covers

Each visit we test and balance the water chemistry, including chlorine, pH, alkalinity and stabilizer, and add chemicals as needed. We clean the pool, empty the skimmer and pump baskets, and check the pump, filter and other equipment so small issues are caught before they become repairs.

New customer offer

New weekly customers get a free filter cleaning, a $150 value, with their first month of service. Clean filter cartridges improve water clarity and reduce strain on your pump. We recommend cleaning filters about every 6 months: in spring after the pollen falls and again when swim season ends.

Between visits

Summer heat, storms and heavy swimming use up chlorine faster. Keep the water level at or just above the middle of the skimmer, empty the baskets after windy days and run the pump daily, about 6–8 hours in summer and 4–5 hours in cooler months.

Pool maintenance questions

How often should pool chemicals be added?

In most residential pools, chemicals should be checked and adjusted at least once a week. Hot weather, heavy use and rain can mean extra adjustments between visits.

Does weekly service include repairs?

Weekly service covers cleaning, water chemistry and equipment checks. If we find a problem with a pump, filter or controls, we explain the repair options and quote them separately.

How long should I run my pool pump?

About 6–8 hours a day in summer and 4–5 hours a day in cooler months, depending on your pool and pump. A variable speed pump can run longer at low speed for less energy.
